A background to Connecticut reveals that it is characterized by rolling hills, New England homes, and coastline. Albeit certain sections of the state do indeed experience crime issues just like any other, it remains one of the most secure states with some of the safest towns for the inhabitants and their families to live in.

Darien

It is a coastal town in Fairfield County that has scored high in many ratings in terms of safety in Connecticut. Darien is a town located approximately 50 miles from New York City, and while its setting is quaint – with architecture reminiscent of a small New England town – it is also within commuting distance of New York City. This is a population of over 21,000 people, and crime also remains low, including violent crime or no violent crimes, sometimes in a given year. The Darien Police Department claims to enforce community policing, and care, and ensure all the community members are protected. Public schools are equally rated highly, and this has made Darien a most desirable haven for families to live in.

Ridgefield

Located in northern Fairfield County, Ridgefield has a population of less than 25,000 residents and its inhabitants positively claim that their town is friendly and safe. There has never been a murder that has taken place in recent decades; the only case that occurred was in 2002. Furthermore, Ridgefield has one of the best public schools in the country, and real estate prices are constantly increasing due to the demand from families who are looking for a place to settle down. The role of the Ridgefield Police Department is to create a safe community and strengthen community involvement as a means of achieving that goal. They envision youth programs at the station and officers visiting schools and other community events to ensure all the residents of the community are empowered to express themselves as well as feel safe.

Weston

Nestled in Fairfield County between the towns of Easton and Westport, the town of Weston is serene and perfectly conveys the charm that people associate with a quintessential American New England town. It has been found that slightly more than 10,000 people live in these towns and get the opportunity to enjoy the quietness and stunning nature as well as the maximum level of security. Weston has been a preferred residential area because of the excellent public schools that are ranked among the best in the state. The violent crime rate is reduced to close to zero every year, and there are few robberies or burglaries in a year at most. Weston can largely credit its continued safe, small-town character to good planning and zoning practices that have allowed development densities and commercial encroachment to remain in check and the openness of the community to be preserved.

Guilford

The quiet town with slightly over 22, 000 residents, situated in Connecticut’s Long Island Sound is renowned for its unity, historical coastal ambiance, and above all, safety. Violent crimes are not commonly reported in Guilford as the statistic shows that there were only a few in total over the past two decades. A local or visitor can only enjoy their beautiful town and all it has to offer by sleeping sound at night. While Guilford has all of the above perks, it doesn’t alienate you from civilization; it is only half an hour away from both Boston and New York. This is ideal for many a resident – the small town is quiet, but the big city commute is never too far away if required.

Glastonbury

Glastonbury is the 13th largest town in Connecticut with approximately 34,916 residents, and it also boasts of being significantly safe. Categories: Violent crime is rare; they seldom record more than a single digit in an average year for robbery and burglary. Narrowly targeted community policing actions do contribute to ensuring its sustained safety and security. Elements of interest include Main Street, picturesque orchards and farmer markets, and relaxing boat rides on the Connecticut River – dispelling the myth that living in a safe town equals living in a low-quality environment. I am aware that Glastonbury is regarded as an ideal residential area for families due to its highly-rated school district.

In today’s world, it has become increasingly challenging to preserve such low crime rates as in Connecticut’s several safest towns. And so, it does indeed take a village which means that proactive planning and zoning, committed public safety departments that work in tandem with community relations and concierge, involved residents who watch out for their neighbors, and a shared and holistic sense of neighborhood security. For New England City’s standout safe town dwellers – including residents in Darien, Ridgefield, Weston, Guilford, and Glastonbury among others – that never-ending promise has been well worth it with serene, picturesque neighborhoods to live in.
